When I bought my ViewSonic 21PS I was being a frugle buyer. I compaired the specs against many other monaters thinking this would be adaquit. after recieving my unit I was shocked. It was not adaquit, it was everything I wanted. I was conserned about the slower refresh rate compaired to monaters costing hundreds more. But to my suprise my eyes have never complained. And in the end just having a 21inch monator has made me more productive. It has been well worth the investment. just be sure to have a graphics card with enough memory.

Today Matrox has graphic cards with up to 16 MB of memory. This lets the card to display 16.7M colors at 1600 x 1200.

Ruged milatary spec.computers.

If you want a laptop computer that you don't have to treat with kid gloves, look to thees three companies.

The milatary defined how tough these computers should be. Like 30g's which can be demonstrated as a drop from table hight, while running. Or 4" of rain per hour. In the Fieldworks booklet I have they demonstrate one of their computers installed in the belly of a F18 hornet collecting data. So I wouldnt worry about using one of these in a moving car, boat or plane. The larger Fieldworks computer has space available to install PCI or 16bit bus cards.
