I would like to share with you the major diferent types of telescopes for the amature. I own two Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. One is a early `80's Celestron, and the other is a 1986 Meade Lx200. I adore the hand controler and operation of the Meade product. I atempted to atatch a computer on the old Celestron after I installed a 9v motor & controller. I was not happy with installing and removing the incoders when packing the scope and quickly returned the unit. From that day forward I sought after one of todays computerized telescopes. Choseing between the Lx200 or the unavailable Celestron Ultima 2000 was tough. Especially when I could not find a telescope showroom with ither telescope in stock. The choise between a Celestron C8+ computerized and the Lx200 was an easy choice.
